My name is Johnnie DeGiorgi and I am running for the democratic candidacy for Charles County Commissioner representing District 2.
I have lived in western Charles for many years.
I feel strongly that elected officers MUST respond to the needs of the citizens.
I feel strongly that government, like any family, needs to define a budget and live by it. We have to decide between wants and needs. It tight economic times, like now, we need to focus on needs.

Reality: 2009, 10 furlough days
WITHOUT pay for county employees, 3% budget cuts for most departments, 2% budget cuts for board of education and sheriff's office,
and a hiring freeze. 2010 doesn't look to be much better.
The Commissioners' Reality: Start the process for a 48% pay raise
for themselves!
